Five Ironman World Championship wins in a Fusion tri suit in eight years is a record worth examining.
All five in a Fusion suit. All five at the sport's most demanding race. Across two different courses, across men's and women's racing, across nearly a decade of the sport's evolution.
That is a remarkable record for any performance brand.
The Athletes
Patrick Lange announced himself to the world in 2017 with a then-course record in Kona, backing it up the following year with an overall Ironman World Championship record of 7:52:39. Two of the most dominant consecutive performances in the race's history.
Sam Laidlow won in Nice in 2023 — a new championship venue that demanded a different kind of athlete and a different kind of race. Laidlow delivered convincingly.
2025 produced something extraordinary. Casper Stornes won the men's world championship in Nice on his full distance debut — leading an all-Norwegian podium in a course record of 7:51:36. Weeks later Solveig Løvseth won the women's world championship in Kona, also on her full distance debut.
Two world championships in a single season. Both debut performances. Both raced in the Fusion TEMPO! PRO.

Future Innovation & Development at the Sports Highest Level
The 2025 season meant more than results alone.
Fusion completed something no other performance apparel brand has done — they built their own wind tunnel. Not access to a shared facility or occasional testing sessions. A fully operational in-house tunnel, the first of its kind globally for a triathlon apparel brand.
The practical meaning is significant. Fusion's engineers can now test every fabric decision, every panel placement, every construction detail in real aerodynamic conditions as part of the daily development process. The tunnel is a development tool rather than a validation exercise.
The TEMPO! PRO that Stornes and Løvseth wore to their 2025 titles was developed in the Fusion wind tunnel.

What The Record Means
Five world championship wins don't require much interpretation.
The Ironman World Championship is the sport's ultimate test — the deepest field, the hardest conditions, the highest pressure. The athletes who win there are supported by some of the most sophisticated performance teams in endurance sport. Every equipment decision is scrutinised.
Fusion has been part of five winning campaigns across eight years. The record stands on its own.

The FM Sports Perspective
We have carried Fusion in Australia and New Zealand for over twelve years.
We were here for Lange's back to back wins. For Laidlow in Nice. And we watched 2025 produce something neither of us had seen before — two debut world champions in a single season in the same suit.
Twelve years of backing the right brand has a way of feeling very straightforward when the results look like this.
