Massive congrats to Benny Bell. Taking out the Men’s 40-44 age group, 32nd overall and 6th age group athlete. Time of 9:03 with swim 0:59, bike 4:58 and run 3:00. Super impressive and a huge breakthrough win for Ben. Having gone Top 10 in Kona twice before, however first time on the podium and taking out the win. Huge! Family, kids, full time job. Benny epitomises a real age group athlete and show's what's possible in the sport of triathlon. The Ironman Triathlon World Championships in Kona, arguably the toughest one day endurance sporting event in the world.
We also had Dave Kennett making having a great Kona debut. Putting down a 9:50 & 29th in AG. Swim 1:03, bike 5:11:36 and run 3:27. Our former rugby 'strongman' doing it nicely in some toasty conditions. Nice one!
